Theme Thursday - April Showers

Happy Thursday! Today's Theme Thursday is: "April Showers".

Vancouver is rainy year round, but the Spring rain is different. It can be sunny one minute, you blink, and *pow* a downpour. Blink again, and it's sunny....with a rainbow and pink blossoms.

Swag Bags

Got Craft? is coming up soon, which means swag, swag, swag!  Each vendor contributes to the highly coveted swag bags which are handed out to the first 50 people in line, for both days.

(Saturday, May 10th & Sunday, May 11th, 2014. 10am to 5pm at the Maritime Labour Centre, 1880 Triumph Street, Vancouver, B.C.)

Here's my contributions to the swags bags.....I've gone washi tape crazy!

Here's a sampling of my items:

A view of my table in action. Had an apple pie/coffee break....there's my son in the background eating some pie too!

Friday Favourites....Baileys, Caramels, Feathers oh my!

Here are my Friday Favourites!

The Spring craft fairs are about to start up again, and I'm starting to think about my displays. I'm loving these hanging, glitter dipped feathers! The mini bunting flags are super cute too.

I'd love these ornaments in my studio...
artdoll ornament. star ornament.

 ...and these!
owl ornament (I can't find a working link for this owl ornament. I found it on pinterest). bird ornament.

mmmmmm. I'm drooling over these.  It would be fun to set up an afternoon playdate to make both of these recipes.

Sunday Recap - A Birthday Party and New Cards

Here's a re-cap of last week's highlights.

Number one on the list - my son turned 10!! We made these candy kabobs as part of his goodie bags.
About to blow out 10 curly candles:
His actual birthday was on Wed, and he prefers pie over cake, so Grandma made him a lemon meringue pie!  It was delicious!
I made some new cards this week too:

And put up a card special in my etsy shop:
Sold cards wrapped up and on their way:

WOYWW - Week 242

WOYWW? - What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday #242.

This is what my work desk looked like today:

I'm working on several things at of them being these bunny girls.  I'm taking an online class from Teresa McFayden, which has been a lot of fun!

I don't know why I drew her neck so long, but my 7 year old daughter hates it!  She can be a little dramatic, but she says she can't even look at it because it "freaks her out"!

Here's a stamp that I'm making for the envelopes of the postcard swap.  It was meant to be a mail bird, but my hubby thinks it looks like a school bird.

Here's #10 - the last postcard for the swap!  It just needs some words in the oval.....something about wings maybe.

Head on over to Julia Dunnit's blog to check out other creative work spaces!

WOYWW? What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday #241

WOYWW?  What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday - week #241.  Stamping Ground is hosting the weekly Wednesday blog hop, peeking into people's work desks.  Head on over there for a list of participating bloggers.

Here is my messy desk!  I've been working on postcards for a swap I joined.  This one is the 8th one.....2 more to go!

See those Portfolio Oil Pastels there?  I *LOVE* them!......but I bought this set in the Summer, and for some reason I left them on the window sill and they melted!  Thankfully I'm still able to use them though.

So today I painted this girl.  Don't even ask about her eyebrows....or her wide face! lol  It looks like she's just come out of dental surgery!

Tomorrow it's my hubby's birthday, so I'll be baking his favourite cake in the world - Carrot Cake.  Our favourite recipe is from a Mennonite Cookbook: "Food That Really Schmecks".  Then I'll head back into the studio to work on post card #9.

First 7 Postcards for the International Postcard Swap

I've been having a ton of fun in my studio, making postcards for the postcard swap over at Musings On Realities.  Although I've had my new studio space since November, I didn't really move in until this month.  It's SO nice to be able to start a project and leave it out.....and to have all your supplies in one place.....and working with no interruptions.

Some of these will be getting some text added to them, but 7 out of 10 are (mostly) finished!
