Here's a little paper artdoll that I made, using a matchbox. My mom hosted a drawing challenge on her blog last week, and her theme was "paper doll/drama" (of course I'm several days late, but she's my mom and she doesn't mind!)

WOYWW? 156

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - week 156. I haven't posted in a week - since last "Workdesk Wednesday!" I had a great weekend at the Portobello West show over the weekend, and have been puttering around, doing a little of this, little of that. Today I've been making invitations for my daughter's 6th birthday party:
She's sharing her party with another boy in her class, so the whole class is invited.
I'm also working on some glass necklaces, cutting up some of this new gorgeous handmade paper that I got last week:

WOYWW? - 155

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - week 155. Today's Wednesday - the day to head over to Julia Dunnit's blog: Stamping Ground to take a peek into people's work desks! Today I'm working on repurposing some bottle caps into magnets and brooches. A local store has requested a stock re-fresher, and I'm also participating in a market: "Portobello West Fashion and Art Market" on Saturday and Sunday.
The assembly line:
Here's some bottle caps at my table from last weekend (I was outdoors in the POURING rain!):
Here's some finished ones:

"So, there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"."

Sigh.....my heart melted when I opened up my Mother's Day card from my son:

A peeking elf:
It was my first outdoor fair of the year, and it went very smoothly. The weather was GREAT, and everyone was in a fantastically super mood!

WOYWW - 153

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - week 153. Today I'm working on some glass necklaces. Last Sunday's craft fair was such a success that I'm scrambling around, making some new stock for this upcoming Saturday's fair! Here's my workdesk today....it's funny how you see things more clearly in photo's. I didn't even realize that I was working alongside a lego plane and rubber snakes! Of course my coffee mug is always there too....and I see an old JJ Bean napkin (coffee plays a major role in my life it seems!)
Stacks of necklaces waiting for their next stage:
Cut paper:
Oh boy do I ever have a thing for paper! I have stacks and rolls and piles all over the place. Paper-Ya is one of my favourite local stores!
I took this crow photo while walking my kids to school in the snow this past Winter. He was just hanging out, checking us out (probably hoping for some food - it looked like he was eyeing their lunch bags!).
Feel like taking a peek at some other Wednesday work desks today? Head on over to Julia Dunnit's blog, "Stamping Ground" for a ton of work desk eye candy!

WOYWW? 152

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday week 152. I'm prepping for another upcoming craft show this weekend, so I've got tons of odds n' ends happening in my workspace this Wednesday! I've been drilling holes through scrabble tiles:
lol - who doesn't have a crown royal bag filled with scrabble tiles? I've become a scrabble tile expert! All it takes is a 1/2 second glance for me to tell you what generation the scrabble tile came from! I've been working with them for years now, and have learned a few things about them. When I first started making necklaces, I used to glue bails on top of them.....until I was at a fair, and the freaking tiles started falling to the table, while the bails and necklaces were still hanging on the stand. I think the problem was that I had them outdoors overnight in cold winter temperatures, then they were set up in a hot room, and the glue became brittle? I don't know, but I was SO EMBARRASED and horrified, I went out the next day and bought a huge drill press!
I also make lapel pins, cuff links, and earrings out of the tiles. Haven't done bracelets yet, although I get requests all the time!
Look at the messy conditions I work in!! Head on over to Julia Dunnit's blog: Stamping Ground to have a peek into other people's work spaces this Wednesday. Some people have lots of things scattered around like me, while others are so (enviously) neat and tidy with their spaces. It's fun to peek into other people's worlds! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Recycled Tile Magnets

A while ago, I was crazy about making magnets out of recycled ceramic tiles. I took a break, and have recently been bitten by the magnet-making bug again! These are much different from my old bird ones......but don't worry - birds will be sneaking into these new magnets too! Here's a little sampling of the newbie magnets:
This weekend coming up I'll be in another Spring Craft fair: Got Craft? You're always sure to find something unique and awesome there! I've been cutting and glueing and packaging like a mad woman!
